Text:1 Timothy 2:1–4
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
FORMS OF PRAYER COMMUNICATION Intercession
- Memory Verse: Hebrews 7:25 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”Intercession is a form of prayer communication where you pray on behalf of others. It involves standing in the spiritual gap and presenting the needs, challenges, and situations of other people before God. Intercession reflects love, compassion, and spiritual responsibility. It invites God’s mercy, intervention, protection, and guidance into the lives of others.
Through intercession, you partner with God to influence situations spiritually. You pray for individuals, families, leaders, communities, and nations. Intercession can bring healing, restoration, breakthrough, and divine protection. It allows you to become instruments through which God releases His will on earth.
Intercession also strengthens spiritual authority and sensitivity. When you pray for others, you align with God’s heart and develop deeper spiritual maturity. Intercessory prayer goes beyond personal needs and focuses on God’s purpose in the lives of others.
Intercession is like a legal advocate standing before a judge on behalf of another person. The advocate speaks, pleads, and presents the case so the person can receive help and justice. An intercessor stands before God, praying for His mercy and intervention in the lives of others.
Jesus Himself is the greatest example of an intercessor, continually praying and advocating for us.
Action Plans:
- Pray regularly for others, including family, leaders, and those in need.
- Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your intercession.
- Remain consistent and faithful in standing spiritually for others.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 109: “JOY IN ANSWERED PRAYER” By Apostle James Abache
- O Lord, we lift our hearts to Thee,
In prayer and trust, our souls set free.
With every cry, You hear our plea,
And bring us joy eternally.
Refrain:
Joy in answered prayer, O Lord,
Our hearts rejoice in one accord.
Your faithful love we do declare,
For in Your grace, we find our prayer.
- In times of need, You hear our call,
Your answer brings us peace through all.
When doubts arise, we still stand tall,
For You, O God, are our all in all.
- Though answers come in ways unknown,
We trust Your wisdom, all our own.
In every trial, we’ve brightly grown,
For through Your Word, our joy is shown.
- We thank You, Lord, for answered prayer,
Your love and mercy everywhere.
With hearts of joy, we lift each care,
In You, we find our joy so rare.
Today’s Prayer
- Father, teach me to stand in the gap and pray effectively for others.
- Lord, release Your mercy, protection, and guidance upon those I intercede for.
- Holy Spirit, help me intercede according to God’s perfect will always.
