Text:John 4:23–24
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth
FORMS OF PRAYER COMMUNICATION Worship
- Memory Verse: Psalm 100:2 “Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”Worship is a form of prayer communication that focuses on honoring, reverencing, and expressing love to God for who He is, not just for what He does. Unlike petition, which asks for needs, worship exalts God’s nature, character, power, and faithfulness. Worship communicates surrender, devotion, and recognition of God’s supreme authority.
Through worship, you enter into deeper spiritual connection with God. Worship creates an atmosphere where God’s presence is experienced more strongly. It aligns the your heart with God and strengthens your spiritual sensitivity. In worship, communication flows both ways, you express honour to God, and God releases peace, assurance, and spiritual strength.
Worship shifts focus from problems to God’s greatness. It builds faith, removes fear, and strengthens confidence in God’s power. Worship also invites divine presence and intervention, because it acknowledges God as Lord and King.
Worship is like a loyal subject honoring a great king. The subject expresses respect, love, and loyalty, not to gain favour, but to acknowledge the king’s greatness. Worship honours God for His majesty and authority.
Action Plans:
- Spend time daily honouring God through praise, thanksgiving, and reverence.
- Focus on God’s character rather than your needs.
- Worship sincerely with your heart, words, and actions.

- Father, I worship You for Your greatness, faithfulness, and unmatched authority over my life.
- Lord, help me develop a lifestyle of true worship in spirit and truth.
- Holy Spirit, draw me into deeper worship and fellowship with God always.
