FORMS OF PRAYER COMMUNICATION Silence / Waiting

Text: Psalm 46:9–11

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

FORMS OF PRAYER COMMUNICATION Silence / Waiting

  • Memory Verse: Psalm 62:1 “Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.”Silence and waiting is a powerful form of prayer communication where you intentionally becomes still before God to listen, receive, and recognize His voice. It is the practice of quieting the mind, emotions, and distractions to create space for God to communicate. While prayer often involves speaking, silence allows you to hear God’s response, guidance, and direction.

Waiting on God demonstrates trust, surrender, and spiritual sensitivity. It acknowledges that God’s wisdom is greater than human understanding. In silence, the Holy Spirit brings clarity, peace, conviction, and revelation. This form of communication strengthens spiritual awareness and helps you to recognize God’s inner guidance.

Silence also renews spiritual strength and removes confusion. Many times, God communicates not through noise, but through quiet inner impressions and peace. Waiting helps align your heart with God’s will and prepares you to act according to His direction.

Silence before God is like tuning a radio to receive a signal clearly. If there is too much noise or interference, the signal cannot be heard. But when the noise is removed, the message becomes clear. Spiritual stillness allows you to receive God’s communication clearly.

    Action Plans:

    • Create daily quiet time to be still and focus on God.
    • Remove distractions during prayer.
    • Listen attentively and record any spiritual impressions or guidance received.
