PROPHETIC COMMUNICATION

Text: : Amos 3:7

7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

1 Corinthians 14:3

3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

PROPHETIC COMMUNICATION

  • Memory Verse: 2 Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”Prophetic communication is a channel through which God reveals His mind, heart, and purpose to His people. It is a divinely inspired message delivered by the Holy Spirit to provide spiritual insight, direction, encouragement, and confirmation. Prophecy is not human prediction but divine revelation intended to align you with God’s will.

    Prophecy serves several important functions. First, it reveals God’s heart, helping you understand His desires, intentions, and spiritual perspective. Second, it confirms direction, affirming guidance God has already placed within the your spirit. Third, it edifies, exhorts, and comforts, strengthening faith, encouraging obedience, and bringing reassurance during uncertainty.

    Prophetic communication strengthens spiritual awareness and prepares you for God’s plans. It does not replace the Scripture but works in agreement with it. True prophecy always aligns with God’s Word, reflects His character, and produces peace, clarity, and spiritual growth.

    The New Testament prophecy is subject to testing. 1 Thessalonians 5:20 “Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” This means you must test prophetic messages carefully. No prophecy has authority above the Scripture, and every prophetic word must be confirmed by God’s Word, the Holy Spirit, and spiritual discernment.

    Prophecy is like a spiritual confirmation message that strengthens and clarifies instructions already given. Just as a supervisor confirms a task to ensure accuracy, prophecy confirms God’s will and strengthens confidence in His direction.

    Action Plans:

    • Test every prophetic message with the Scripture and prayer.
    • Seek confirmation through the Holy Spirit.
    • Respond in obedience when prophecy aligns with God’s Word.

COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 51: SS & S 235: MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE,

  1. My faith looks up to Thee,

Thou Lamb of Calvary,

Saviour divine ;

Now hear me while I pray ;

Take all my guilt away ;

Oh, let me from this day

Be wholly Thine.

  1. May Thy rich grace impart

Strength to my fainting heart,

My zeal inspire :

As Thou hast died for me,

Oh, may my love to Thee

Pure, warm, and changeless be—–

A living fire.

  1. While life’s dark maze I tread,

And griefs around me spread,

Be Thou my Guide :

Bid darkness turn to day,

Wipe sorrow’s tears away ;

Nor let me ever stray

From Thee aside.

  1. When ends life’s transient dream—-

When death’s cold, sullen stream

Shall o’er me roll—-

Blest Saviour, then in love,

Fear and distrust remove ;

Oh, bear me safe above—-

Today’s Prayer

  1. Father, help me recognize and receive prophetic communication according to Your truth.
  2. Lord, grant me discernment to test and confirm every prophetic word.
  3. Holy Spirit, guide me to walk in obedience to Your revealed will.
