Bible Text: Romans 1:21–24
Because, knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves;
Memory Verse:
Isaiah 6:9 “And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.”
A student who continuously ignores instructions eventually loses opportunities to learn and improve. When people repeatedly reject God’s truth and correction, their hearts become darkened, and spiritual blindness increases as a serious consequence. Judicial blindness is a severe level of spiritual blindness that begins when people constantly reject God’s truth, correction, and revelation. After persistent disobedience and resistance, God allows such persons to remain in the darkness they have chosen. This blindness becomes a divine consequence of hardened hearts and continual rebellion. The Bible explains that although people knew God, they refused to honour Him or remain thankful. Instead, their thinking became vain, and their hearts were darkened. Pride, rebellion, and rejection of truth caused spiritual understanding to decrease gradually until discernment became severely corrupted.
Judicial blindness does not happen suddenly. It develops through repeated rejection of God’s voice, continual disobedience, and persistent refusal to repent. When people consistently resist conviction and ignore truth, spiritual sensitivity weakens greatly. Over time, hearts become hardened and unable to perceive spiritual realities clearly. People experiencing judicial blindness often believe they are wise while walking deeper into deception and darkness. They may justify sinful behaviour, reject biblical truth, and resist godly correction completely. Their spiritual judgment becomes distorted because light has been rejected. This condition serves as a serious warning to believers and unbelievers alike. God is merciful and patient, giving opportunities for repentance repeatedly. However, persistent rebellion carries dangerous consequences. Spiritual blindness increases when truth is continually ignored or rejected.
Yet God still desires repentance and restoration. Anyone willing to humble themselves sincerely before Him can receive mercy, forgiveness, and renewed understanding. Through repentance, prayer, obedience, and surrender to God’s truth, spiritual sight can be restored again. You must therefore guard your heart carefully and remain responsive to God’s correction continually. A humble and obedient heart remains spiritually sensitive and open to divine revelation.

Covenant Gate Hymnals 28: SS&S 190: COME, HOLY SPIRIT, COME
Let Thy bright beams arise,
Dispel the darkness from our minds,
And open all our eyes.
Revive our drooping faith,
Our doubts and fears remove,
And kindle in our breasts the flame
Of never-dying love.
Convince us of our sin,
Then lead to Jesus’ blood,
And to our wondering view reveal
The secret love of God.
‘Tis Thine to cleanse the heart,
To sanctify the soul,
To pour fresh life in every part,
And new-create the whole.
Dwell therefore in our hearts,
Our minds from bondage free ;
Then we shall know, and praise, and love
The Father, Son, and Thee !
