Bible Text: Acts 9:3–6
As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.
He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him,
“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
He said, “Who are you, Lord?”
The Lord said,
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But
rise up, and enter into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
Memory Verse:
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
A blind person begins seeing clearly after receiving proper treatment and restored vision. Spiritual sight is restored when people encounter Jesus Christ personally and develop genuine relationship with Him through faith and obedience. A spiritual encounter with Christ is God’s ultimate solution to spiritual blindness. True spiritual sight does not come merely through human wisdom, religion, or knowledge. It comes through genuine relationship with Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world and the source of all spiritual truth.
The encounter of Saul on the road to Damascus demonstrates the transforming power of meeting Christ personally. Saul was spiritually blind despite his religious knowledge and zeal. He persecuted believers because he lacked true understanding of God’s will. However, when Jesus revealed Himself, Saul’s life changed completely. His spiritual eyes were opened, and he became Paul, a faithful servant of Christ. Many people today remain spiritually blind because they know about God intellectually but lack personal relationship with Jesus. Religion alone cannot remove spiritual darkness. Only Christ can bring true understanding, transformation, and salvation. Through relationship with Him, hearts become enlightened and lives are changed completely.
Jesus reveals truth, exposes deception, and gives divine direction. Those who follow Him no longer walk in spiritual darkness because His presence brings light into every area of life. A genuine encounter with Christ produces repentance, humility, spiritual understanding, and renewed purpose. As believers, we must continually cultivate intimacy with Christ through prayer, worship, obedience, and studying His Word. The closer believers walk with Jesus, the clearer their spiritual understanding becomes. Fellowship with Christ strengthens discernment and helps you remain focused on God’s purpose faithfully.
Throughout the Scripture, individuals who encountered Christ experienced transformation and spiritual awakening. Blindness, confusion, fear, and sin were replaced with truth, wisdom, and purpose. Jesus still changes lives today through His saving power and presence.

Covenant Gate Hymnals 29: SS&S 642: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
What a glory he sheds on our way
While we do his good will, he abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies
But his smile quickly drives it away
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh nor a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share
But our toil he doth richly repay
Not a grief nor a loss, not a frown or a cross
But is blest if we trust and obey
But we never can prove the delights of his love
Until all on the altar we lay
For the favor he shows, and the joy he bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet
Or we will walk by his side in the way
What he says we will do, where he sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obey
