Bible Text: John 15:13
13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
Corinthians 13:7 “Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
A bridge connects two places that would otherwise remain separated. However, building a strong bridge requires resources, labour, patience, and commitment. Love is like that bridge; it connects hearts, restores broken relationships, and reflects the nature of God. But genuine love comes with a price because it requires sacrifice, forgiveness, patience, and selflessness.
Many people desire to receive love, but fewer are willing to pay the price of demonstrating true love. Love is proven not only through words but through actions. A parent sacrifices for a child, a faithful friend stands during difficult seasons, and a servant of God gives without expecting recognition.
The greatest example of love is found in Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for humanity. His love was not based on convenience or conditions; it was demonstrated through sacrifice. The price of love is surrendering selfishness and choosing to bless others even when it costs something.
The price of love is the willingness to put others before ourselves. God’s love is not shallow or temporary; it is patient, enduring, and faithful. As believers, we are called to demonstrate this same love in our homes, churches, communities, and relationships.
Love requires forgiveness because people will disappoint us. Love requires patience because everyone is growing and changing. Love requires humility because pride often prevents reconciliation. Without these qualities, relationships become fragile and easily broken.
Jesus showed love to people who rejected Him, served those who could not repay Him, and extended mercy to those who needed restoration. His example teaches us that love is not measured by what we receive but by what we are willing to give.
The world often defines love by feelings, but God defines love by commitment and sacrifice. True love remains present during difficult seasons. It encourages the weak, restores the broken, and reflects God’s character to others.
When we pay the price of love, we become channels of God’s grace. Love has the power to heal wounds, unite people, and reveal the presence of God. A believer who walks in love carries a powerful testimony because love is one of the clearest expressions of God’s kingdom on earth.

Covenant Gate Hymnals 51: SS & S 235: MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE,
My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Saviour divine ;
Now hear me while I pray ;
Take all my guilt away ;
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine.
May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire :
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be—–
A living fire.
While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my Guide :
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away ;
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.
When ends life’s transient dream—-
When death’s cold, sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll—-
Blest Saviour, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove ;
Oh, bear me safe above—-
Today’s Prayer
1. Lord teach me to love others with a pure and selfless heart.
2. Father remove selfishness and fill me with Your love daily.
3. Lord help others experience Your love and share it faithfully in Jesus name. Amen.
