STRENGTHENING YOUR SPIRIT THROUGH CONFESSION AND REPENTANCE

STRENGTHENING YOUR SPIRIT THROUGH CONFESSION AND REPENTANCE

Text: Psalm 32:3-4

3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me:  my moisture is turned into the drought of summer.   Selah.

STRENGTHENING YOUR SPIRIT THROUGH CONFESSION AND REPENTANCE

Memory Verse:        Proverbs 28:13 “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”

Your spirit is like a window, when it is clean, sunlight shines through clearly. But if that window gets dirty, the light is blocked, and everything inside looks dim. Sin is like the dirt on that window. When we hold on to sin and do not confess it, our spirit becomes cloudy. We can not see God’s truth clearly, and we may become far from Him.

Unconfessed sin weakens your spirit. It weighs you down with guilt, shame, and distance from God. It is like trying to run with heavy bags on your back. You might still move, but not with strength or joy.

But there is good news! God is inviting you to come to Him with open hearts. When you confess your sins and turn away from them is called repentance, God forgives completely. He does not hold your mistakes against you. Instead, He washes your heart clean, like wiping that dirty window until it shines again. Confession is simply being honest with God. You can say, “God, I did something wrong. I am sorry.” You don’t need fancy words. What matters is that your heart is sincere. Repentance means turning away from that sin and trying to live in a new, better way with God’s help.

When you confess and repent, your spirit becomes strong again. You feel lighter, freer, and more connected to God. Your prayers become clearer, and your heart is more open to His voice. It is like finally taking off those heavy bags from your back, then you can walk, run, and grow stronger. A clean heart brings spiritual clarity. It helps you hear God’s guidance and see life through His eyes. You will notice more peace in your mind and love in your actions. God’s power can flow more easily through a heart that is clean and humble.

Do not be afraid to confess your sins. God is loving and ready to forgive. Make it a regular part of your quiet time, like cleaning your window every day so the light can always shine through.

Covenant Gate Hymnals 73: “THE EVIDENCE OF TRUE CONFESSION” By Apostle James Abache

1. We confess with our lips, “Jesus is Lord,”

And believe in our hearts, His word is our sword.

By His grace, we are saved, in His name we stand,

Living for His glory, at His command.

Refrain:

True confession, more than words we say,

It’s a life that reflects His way.

Obedient hearts, by His Spirit we’re led,

Following Christ, with each step we tread.

2. No longer we live for the world’s fleeting gain,

But to honour the One who bore all our pain.

His lordship is shown in the life that we lead,

Obedience and love, in Christ we succeed.

3. By the Spirit’s power, we walk in His light,

Shining His love, through day and night.

We declare His lordship, not just in our speech,

But in every action, His glory we reach.

Bridge:

Faith without works is dead, we know,

True confession in actions will show.

Christ in us, our hope and our song,

In Him we live, to Him we belong.
