STRENGTHENING YOUR SPIRIT THROUGH FELLOWSHIP

STRENGTHENING YOUR SPIRIT THROUGH FELLOWSHIP

Text: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

9 Two are better than one;  because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow:  but woe to him that is alone when he falleth;  for he hath not another to help him up.

STRENGTHENING YOUR SPIRIT THROUGH FELLOWSHIP

Memory Verse:        Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

Spending time with other believers is one of the best ways to grow stronger in your faith. And spirit. It is called fellowship, being with people who also love God, pray, and try to follow His Word. Fellowship is like working out with a team. When you exercise alone, it is easy to give up or feel tired. But when you have a team beside you, cheering you on, you feel encouraged to keep going.

To be part of a team who train together, support each other, and work toward the same goal. If one teammate feels weak, the others help. If someone falls, the team lifts them up. That is what fellowship is all about. When you are surrounded by other believers, your spirit feels supported, loved, and not alone. The Christian journey is not meant to be walked alone. Sometimes, life can be hard. You might face problems, doubts, or fear. But when you have people to pray with, talk to, and worship alongside, you gain strength. Their stories remind you that you are not the only one struggling. Their prayers give you hope, and their faith can help lift your own.

Fellowship also helps you learn. When you read the Bible together, talk about what God is doing, or serve others as a group, your spirit is fed and grows stronger. It is like eating a big meal with friends, everyone brings something to the table, and everyone leaves full. Even Jesus spent time with His disciples, teaching them and encouraging them to stay together. The early church in the Bible met often, prayed together, shared meals, and helped one another. Because they were united, their faith became strong, and they were able to face anything. You do not need a large crowd. Fellowship can happen with just two or three friends. You can pray together, read a Bible verse, or simply talk about how God is helping you.

Remember that fellowship is a spiritual teamwork. It makes you stronger, keeps you from giving up, and helps your spirit grow in love and faith. Do not walk your faith journey alone, walk with others who help you grow closer to God.

Covenant Gate Hymnals   29: SS&S 642: “WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD“

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of his Word
What a glory he sheds on our way
While we do his good will, he abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies
But his smile quickly drives it away
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh nor a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share
But our toil he doth richly repay
Not a grief nor a loss, not a frown or a cross
But is blest if we trust and obey

4. But we never can prove the delights of his love
Until all on the altar we lay
For the favor he shows, and the joy he bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet
Or we will walk by his side in the way
What he says we will do, where he sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obey
