SALVATION OF THE SOUL

SALVATION OF THE SOUL

Text: Titus 3:1-6

1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

SALVATION OF THE SOUL

Memory verse: John 3:16“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Salvation means healing and saving the soul. The soul is the most important part of a person as it connects us to God. But because of sin, this connection becomes weak or even broken. Sin is like a sickness in the soul. That is why the soul needs to be healed and restored, and this is where Jesus Christ comes in.

Jesus is the doctor that came to heal your soul. But He did more than any doctor on earth can do. He lived a perfect life He never sinned. Then, He died on the cross, not because He deserved it, but because you did. It is like someone stepping in to take your place when you were supposed to face a punishment. This is called substitution. Jesus took the punishment for your sins. The story did not end with His death, Jesus rose from the dead, showing He has power over sin and death. Because of this, He offers a new life to anyone who believes in Him.

So how do you receive this salvation? The Bible teaches that you must have faith, you must believe in Jesus and trust Him with your life. But faith is more than just belief in your mind; it also means turning away from sin, this is called repentance, and to be baptized, and continuing to follow Him daily with His help. Your sins are like the stubborn stain on your shirt that no matter how hard you try; you cannot wash out the stains by yourself. But Jesus offers a way to wash it clean with His sacrifice and His love. Through Him, your soul can become clean, holy, and close to God again.

As 1 Peter 1:9 says: “…for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” Salvation therefore means that the soul is saved, cleaned, and made new. It is not something you can earn, but a gift from Jesus, given through His love and sacrifice.
