Bible Text: Proverbs 14:12–13
There is a way which seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death.
Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful,
and mirth may end in heaviness.
Memory Verse:
Isaiah 30:21 “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”
A pilot flying without proper navigation systems can easily lose direction and endanger lives. Spiritual blindness causes people to make wrong decisions because they lack God’s guidance and clear spiritual understanding. One serious consequence of spiritual blindness is wrong decisions and misdirection. When spiritual understanding is absent, people often make choices based on emotions, human reasoning, worldly influences, or personal desires instead of seeking God’s guidance. Although certain paths may appear right initially, they can eventually lead to pain, confusion, and destruction.
The Bible warns that there is a way that seems right to a person, yet its end leads to death. Spiritual blindness distorts judgment and weakens discernment. As a result, we may unknowingly choose relationships, lifestyles, opportunities, or decisions contrary to God’s will. Without spiritual light, it becomes difficult to recognize danger and deception clearly. Wrong decisions often produce long-term consequences affecting spiritual growth, relationships, finances, and purpose. Many people experience unnecessary struggles because they acted without prayer, biblical wisdom, or divine direction. Spiritual blindness causes individuals to ignore warning signs and continue following harmful paths confidently.
We can also become spiritually misdirected when we neglect prayer, Scripture study, and obedience to the Holy Spirit. A distracted heart loses sensitivity to God’s voice and becomes vulnerable to confusion. Satan often uses deception and worldly distractions to lead people away from God’s purpose gradually.
However, God lovingly desires to guide His children. Through prayer, obedience, studying Scripture, and dependence upon the Holy Spirit, you gain wisdom and direction. God promise to lead those who trust Him sincerely and listen carefully to His voice. Jesus Christ is the true light who lead will lead you safely in righteousness and truth. A spiritually enlightened believer seeks God before making decisions and remains sensitive to divine correction and instruction.

Covenant Gate Hymnals 29: SS&S 642: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
What a glory he sheds on our way
While we do his good will, he abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies
But his smile quickly drives it away
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh nor a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share
But our toil he doth richly repay
Not a grief nor a loss, not a frown or a cross
But is blest if we trust and obey
But we never can prove the delights of his love
Until all on the altar we lay
For the favor he shows, and the joy he bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet
Or we will walk by his side in the way
What he says we will do, where he sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obey
