DESTROYING ALTARS OF DELAY AND STAGNATION

Bible Text: Isaiah 45:1–3

1. Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
2. I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3. And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

Memory Verse: Amos 9:13 “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.”

Delay is not always natural. Many times it is engineered by spiritual altars that function as invisible barriers against destiny. In Scripture, altars were frequently used to influence outcomes in the spirit realm. Just as prayer altars release blessings, evil altars can release resistance.

When an altar of delay is active against anyone, that person may:

• Work hard but progress slowly
• Begin projects that never get to completion
• Experience opportunities that come but disappear suddenly
• Get close to breakthroughs but never fully possess them

This is what the Bible symbolizes as “gates of brass and bars of iron.” All these represent stubborn spiritual barriers that resist progress. God’s promise in Isaiah 45 is powerful: He goes before His people and destroys those barriers.

Think of the Red Sea before Israel. The sea looked like an impossible obstacle, but when God moved, the barrier became a pathway. Think of Jericho’s walls. What stood for years collapsed in a single divine moment. The same God is still working today. When He moves ahead of you, ancestral altars lose authority, spiritual embargoes collapse, and destiny begins to move with speed again.

Today, every altar that has slowed your life will lose its authority. God is releasing divine acceleration in Jesus’ name. Amen.

COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 132, Altars Against Altars By Apostle James Abache

1. When we stand by the cross,
   Where the Lamb’s blood was shed,
   Every altar of darkness must fall;
   For the covenant flame
   Now is speaking our name,
   And the Lord breaks the chains of them all.

Refrain

Covenant freedom we claim,
Through the blood we are free;
Every bondage forever is gone,
At the altar of grace
We receive heaven’s place,
And the power of the cross leads on.

2. Ancient voices may cry
   From foundations gone by,
   Trying still to control destiny;
   But the blood of the Lamb
   Has rewritten our plan,
   And declares we are fully set free.

3. Like the servant of God
   Who tore Baal’s altar down,
   We arise by the Spirit and stand;
   Every covenant wrong
   Cannot linger for long,
   When the Lord builds His throne in the land.

4. Now the altar of Christ
   Speaks redemption and life,
   And the curse has no hold anymore;
   Generations shall rise
   Under covenant skies,
   For the Lord has unlocked every door.

5. Every altar of night
   Loses power and right
   When the covenant altar appears;
   For the blood now proclaims
   Victory over our names,
   And the Lord wipes away all our fears.

6. So we lift up our voice
And in Christ we rejoice,
For the battle is won by His grace;
Every altar must bow
To the Saviour just now,
And His kingdom shall reign in this place.

Prayers:

1. Father, expose every altar enforcing delay in my life.

Luke 8:17 “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”

Hidden obstacles often cause repeated failures. Driving on a road where a deep pothole is covered by flood waters and every passing vehicle suffers damage because the problem is hidden. Spiritual altars sometimes operate quietly behind family histories. When God reveals them, their power weakens. Exposure removes their secrecy and opens the door for permanent deliverance.

Prayers:

• Father, expose every hidden altar enforcing delay in my life; bring to light every secret power resisting my progress and scatter their influence forever, in Jesus’ name.

• Lord, let every secret altar operating behind the scenes of my life be revealed; uncover every hidden covenant causing repeated delay and destroy their works, in Jesus’ name.

• Lord, shine Your light into every hidden place of my lineage; expose and dismantle every altar of delay, and release me into speed and progress, in Jesus’ name.

2. Dismantle Every Altar of Stagnation

Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

A yoke controls the movement of an animal pulling a plow. If the yoke is too heavy, progress becomes slow and painful. Spiritual stagnation works the same way. When God releases His anointing, the burden breaks and movement becomes easier. The destiny that once struggled begins to move forward with renewed strength.

Prayers

• Lord, dismantle every altar of stagnation in my life; let every yoke slowing my progress be destroyed by Your anointing, and release me into divine advancement, in Jesus’ name.

• Father, every burden of stagnation placed upon my destiny by evil altars, be lifted now; let the power of Your anointing break every limiting yoke, in Jesus’ name.

• Lord, destroy every altar enforcing delay and stagnation in my life; by Your anointing, I break free and move forward into speed and fulfillment, in Jesus’ name.

3. Lord, break every gate of brass blocking my progress.

Isaiah 45:2 “I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron.”

Gates represent access points. When gates remain locked, even qualified individuals cannot enter. Many people possess ability, education, and vision yet remain outside certain opportunities. When God breaks the gates, access is restored and doors begin to open naturally.

Prayers:

• Lord, break every gate of brass standing against my progress; every barrier blocking my access to opportunities be shattered, and let divine doors open, in Jesus’ name.

• Father, go before me and destroy every spiritual gate restricting my advancement; cut asunder every bar of iron hindering my destiny, in Jesus’ name.

• Lord, every gate of limitation and resistance blocking my elevation, break by Your power; restore my access to favor, breakthroughs, and new opportunities, in Jesus’ name.

4. Blood of Jesus, cancel every altar enforcing slow progress.

Colossians 2:14–15 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Negative spiritual records can act like legal documents restricting advancement. Christ’s sacrifice erased those records. When believers invoke His victory, every spiritual authority enforcing delay loses its legal ground.

Prayers:

• Blood of Jesus, cancel every altar enforcing slow progress in my life; blot out every negative record and destroy every power resisting my advancement, in Jesus’ name.

• By the Blood of Jesus, every handwriting of ordinances and evil altar speaking delay over my destiny is erased, and I walk in divine speed, in Jesus’ name.

• Blood of Jesus, silence every principality and power enforcing stagnation in my life; by Your victory, I triumph over every altar of delay, in Jesus’ name.

5. Every altar of unfinished projects, collapse.

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Some people begin many ventures but complete none. This pattern resembles a builder constantly laying foundations but never finishing houses. God’s promise is completion. What He begins in your life will be fulfilled.

Prayers:

• Every altar of unfinished projects operating in my life, collapse now; I receive grace to complete every good work I begin successfully, in Jesus’ name.

• Father, destroy every pattern of starting without finishing in my life; empower me to bring every assignment and vision to fulfillment, in Jesus’ name.

• Lord, by Your power, every altar enforcing incompletion and abandonment in my destiny be dismantled; I walk in completion and excellence, in Jesus’ name.

6. Destroy Every Ancestral Altar Blocking Your Glory.

Exodus 34:13 “But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves.”

God instructed Israel to dismantle every idol altar in their environment. Leaving them standing would allow their influence to remain. Similarly, you must spiritually confront and dismantle altars that oppose your destiny.

Prayers:

• Lord, by Your power destroy every ancestral altar blocking Your glory in my life; let every idol foundation in my lineage be broken completely, in Jesus’ name.

• Father, every altar inherited from my ancestors that is resisting Your purpose in my destiny, be dismantled and scattered forever, in Jesus’ name.

• Lord, uproot every ancestral altar limiting the manifestation of Your glory in my life and family; let Your power prevail over them all, in Jesus’ name.

7. Lord, remove every invisible barrier on my path.

Psalm 24:7 “Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.”

Gates can symbolize opportunities or restrictions. When the King of Glory enters a situation, closed doors begin to open and pathways appear where none existed before.

Prayers:

• Lord, remove every invisible barrier standing on my path to progress; let every gate resisting my advancement lift up and open before me, in Jesus’ name.

• Father, every unseen obstacle blocking my opportunities and breakthroughs, be removed by Your power; let the King of Glory open new doors for me, in Jesus’ name.

• Lord, I command every spiritual gate restricting my destiny to be lifted up; let every everlasting door open and release divine access for my progress, in Jesus’ name.

8. Lord, let Your presence go before me.

Exodus 33:14 “And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”

A traveler moving alone may face many obstacles, but when escorted by a powerful guide, the journey becomes easier. God’s presence clears the way ahead.

Prayers:

• Lord, let Your presence go before me in every journey of life; clear every obstacle and make my path straight, granting me rest on every side, in Jesus’ name.

• Father, as I move forward, go ahead of me; remove every resistance, fight my battles, and establish peace and success in all I do, in Jesus’ name.

• Lord, let Your presence guide and surround me daily; where others struggle, make my path easy and grant me divine rest and victory, in Jesus’ name.

9. LORD, Let Every Altar Of Stagnation Permanently Lose Its Power.

Philippians 2:9–11 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

Authority determines the final outcome in any conflict. The name of Jesus carries the highest authority in heaven and earth. When invoked in faith, every opposing force must submit.

Prayer:

• Lord, by the authority in the name of Jesus, let every altar of stagnation operating in my life permanently lose its power, in Jesus’ name.

• At the name of Jesus, every power and altar enforcing delay and limitation in my destiny must bow and surrender completely.
• Lord, let every tongue and spiritual authority speaking stagnation over my life be silenced, and let Your power establish my progress, in Jesus’ name.

Declaration

In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that every altar enforcing delay and stagnation against your life is collapsing now. Every invisible barrier that slowed your progress is being removed by the power of God. The Lord is going before you to break gates of brass and cut bars of iron.

Your efforts will begin to produce visible results. Your labour will attract reward. Your destiny will move forward with clarity and confidence.

The voice of God will guide your decisions, and His presence will clear obstacles ahead of you. Doors that were once closed are opening by divine authority now in the name of Jesus Christ.

From today forward, your testimony will change. The world will see evidence of God’s intervention in your life. And according to the Word of the Lord, your season of delay is ending and your season of fulfillment has begun. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
