FORMS OF PRAYER COMMUNICATION Petition

Text: Philippians 4:5–6

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

FORMS OF PRAYER COMMUNICATION Petition

  • Memory Verse: Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”Petition is a form of prayer communication where you present specific requests, needs, or desires to God. It is a direct and personal way of asking God for His intervention, provision, wisdom, help, or direction. Petition acknowledges God as the source of all answers and expresses dependence on His power and faithfulness.

Through petition, you communicate your needs openly and honestly to God. This may include requests for guidance, protection, healing, provision, favor, or spiritual strength. Petition is not a sign of weakness but an expression of faith and trust in God’s ability to respond. It invites God’s involvement in situations beyond human control.

Petition also strengthens relationship with God. It demonstrates confidence that God hears, cares, and responds according to His will. While answers may come immediately, gradually, or differently than expected, God always responds in wisdom and love. Petition aligns your heart with God’s purpose and builds spiritual dependence.

Petition is like a child confidently asking a loving father for help. The child does not hesitate because of trust in the father’s care and ability. You can approach God with confidence, knowing He is willing and able to respond.

    Action Plans:

    • Present your needs to God clearly and specifically in prayer.
    • Pray with faith and thanksgiving, trusting His response.
    • Remain attentive and obedient to His guidance after praying.

COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 109: “JOY IN ANSWERED PRAYER” By Apostle James Abache

  1. O Lord, we lift our hearts to Thee,

In prayer and trust, our souls set free.

With every cry, You hear our plea,

And bring us joy eternally.

Refrain:

Joy in answered prayer, O Lord,

Our hearts rejoice in one accord.

Your faithful love we do declare,

For in Your grace, we find our prayer.

  1. In times of need, You hear our call,

Your answer brings us peace through all.

When doubts arise, we still stand tall,

For You, O God, are our all in all.

  1. Though answers come in ways unknown,

We trust Your wisdom, all our own.

In every trial, we’ve brightly grown,

For through Your Word, our joy is shown.

  1. We thank You, Lord, for answered prayer,

Your love and mercy everywhere.

With hearts of joy, we lift each care,

In You, we find our joy so rare.

Today’s Prayer

  1. Father, I present my needs before You and trust in Your faithful provision always.
  2. Lord, strengthen my faith as I wait for Your answers and direction.
  3. Holy Spirit, help me pray effectively and align my requests with God’s will.
