Text: Hebrews 1:1–4
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
GOD IS A COMMUNICATING GOD
Memory verse: John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
God is not silent or distant; He is a communicating God who actively reveals His will, thoughts, and purposes to His people. From Genesis to Revelation, God consistently initiated communication with humanity. He spoke to Adam to give instruction, to Noah to provide warning, to Abraham to establish covenant, and to Moses to deliver His people. This shows that communication is central to God’s relationship with man.
God’s communication is like a lighthouse guiding ships at sea. The lighthouse does not move toward the ship, but it continuously shines to provide direction and prevent destruction. Ships that pay attention arrive safely, while those that ignore the light risk danger. God continuously communicates to guide, protect, and direct His people safely into their divine purpose. His voice is constant, reliable, and life-preserving.
God communicates in various ways and at different times according to His wisdom and purpose. He speaks through His Word, the Holy Spirit, inner conviction, circumstances, and spiritual revelation. His communication brings direction, correction, encouragement, and assurance. Silence is never God’s default; even when He seems quiet, He is preparing, teaching, or positioning His people for what lies ahead.
God’s communication reflects His desire for relationship, not just instruction. He does not want His people to live in confusion or uncertainty. His voice brings peace, clarity, and confidence. When you develop sensitivity through prayer, Scripture, and obedience, recognizing His voice becomes easier and more consistent.
Action Plans:
- Maintain daily prayer and Scripture study to stay connected to God’s voice.
- Create quiet time to listen and reflect on His guidance.
- Obey His instructions promptly to strengthen spiritual clarity and trust.Memory verse: John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”God is not silent or distant; He is a communicating God who actively reveals His will, thoughts, and purposes to His people. COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 15; SS&S 607 I AM THINE, O LORD, I HAVE HEARD THY VOICE
| 1. I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice, And it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith, And be closer drawn to Thee. |
|
Refrain Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, |
|
2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord, |
| 3. O the pure delight of a single hour That before Thy throne I spend, When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God, I commune as friend with friend! |
| 4. There are depths of love that I may not know Till I cross the narrow sea; There are heights of joy that I may not reach Till I rest in peace with Thee. |
Today’s Prayer
- Father, help me see and follow Your guidance like a ship follows a lighthouse safely always.
- Lord, open my ears to hear You clearly in every season of my life.
- Holy Spirit, teach me to recognize and obey God’s voice without hesitation.
