Text: 2 Corinthians 4:7
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Acts 1:8
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
LIVING AS CARRIERS OF THE GOSPEL POWER
Memory verse Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Every believer is not only a recipient of the gospel’s power but also a vessel that carries it to others. The gospel was never meant to be stored; it was designed to flow from hearts transformed to hearts waiting to be touched.
In 2 Corinthians 4:7, Apostle Paul said, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” God entrusts His supernatural force, His “dunamis” within ordinary people to display extraordinary results.
When the gospel changes you, it empowers you to change your world. Like a lamp filled with divine fire, you are called to shine the light of Christ in your workplace, community, and generation. You may not stand on a pulpit, but every believer has a platform your voice, your life, your example.
In Acts 1:8, Jesus promised, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…” That power is not only for preaching, it is for boldness, for compassion, for love that draws others to Christ. When the Holy Spirit fills you, fear gives way to faith, silence turns to testimony, and weakness becomes strength.
Being a carrier of the gospel means living in a way that reflects its message. Your forgiveness preaches. Your integrity preaches. Your kindness and faith in adversity preach louder than words. Like the early disciples, we are ambassadors, not ashamed, not silent, not weary, because we represent the living King whose message still changes lives.
The world does not just need more voices; it needs more vessels believers through whom the gospel’s power flows freely and visibly. The greatest testimony of the gospel is not in words but in a life transformed and a heart on fire for Christ.
Go, therefore, and carry the light. Let your life be a proof that the gospel still works.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 120 “BEYOND THE DARKENED DAY” By Apostle James Abache
- When shadows fall and hope seems dim,
And storms of life are loud and grim,
I lift my eyes, my heart to Thee,
For in Your hands, my soul is free.
Refrain:
Beyond the darkened day, You reign,
In every trial, in every pain,
My faith in You will never cease,
For You alone bring perfect peace.
- When voices rise to cloud my mind,
And all I see is death behind,
I trust Your Word, You hold the key,
To life, to joy, and victory.
- Through every storm, You’re by my side,
I walk by faith, not by my sight,
No hopeless end, no closing door,
For You, my Savior, rise once more.
- In Your hands, the dead shall rise,
In Your grace, my soul shall fly,
You conquer death, You conquer fear,
And in Your love, I draw so near.
Today’s Prayer
- Lord, fill me afresh with Your Spirit. Let my life reflect the power of the gospel and become a living testimony of Your grace.
- Father, give me boldness to share Christ without fear or shame. Use my words and actions to draw many into Your kingdom.
- Lord, raise in this generation carriers of Your gospel power, fearless, faithful, and full of fire, who will light the nations with Your truth.
