Text: Titus 2:11–12
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
POWER FOR THE CONTINUOUS WORK OF GRACE
Memory verse: Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ
Salvation is not just a one-time event; it is an ongoing process of transformation. The moment you believe in Christ, God begins a good work in you, but that work continues through the power of His grace. Grace does not stop at forgiveness; it sustains, strengthens, and shapes you daily into the image of Christ.
Just as a car needs fuel for every journey, you need the gospel daily to continue your journey of faith. It is not enough to start the engine once, without constant refuelling, the car stalls. If you try to live on yesterday’s grace you will soon run dry. The gospel is that daily fuel and fresh power for holy living and consistent growth.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us that, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” God does not abandon His work midway. The same grace that saved you is the grace that keeps you. Through trials, temptations, and tests, grace continues to refine and empower you to live victoriously.
Titus 2:11–12 explains that “the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts.” Grace is not a license to sin, it is the divine tutor that train you in righteousness. It not only pardons sin but produces strength to say “no” to it.
Many begin their walk with excitement but lose momentum along the way because they forget that grace is ongoing. You cannot live the Christian life by willpower; it takes divine empowerment. Grace fuels faith, renews purpose, and restores joy. Every day, the Holy Spirit works in you, energizing you to pray, love, forgive, and endure.
Just as a river flows continually to nourish the land, the gospel’s grace flows daily to renew you. When you stay connected to that flow, you do not struggle in your strength; you thrive in His.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 34: SS & S 894: AMAZING GRACE! HOW SWEET THE SOUND
- Amazing grace ! how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me ;
I once was lost, but now am found ;
Was blind, but now I see.
- ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved ;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed !
- Through many dangers, toils, and
I have already come : [snares,
‘Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home,
- Yes, when this heart and flesh shall
And mortal life shall cease, [fail,
I shall possess within the vail
A life of joy and peace.
Today’s Prayer
- Lord, thank You for beginning a good work in me. Let Your grace continually teach, strengthen, and sustain me in my walk with You.
- Father, refill me daily with the fuel of grace. Help me to depend on Your Spirit, not my effort, to live a holy and fruitful life.
- Lord, strengthen every believer who is weary in faith. Let Your sustaining grace revive and carry them to the fullness of Your purpose.
