PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: Seek His Glory in Prayer and Worship

Text: John 4:23–24

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: Seek His Glory in Prayer and Worship

Memory verse: Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

In 2 Corinthians 3:18 Apostle Paul said, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Prayer and worship are not just religious rituals; they are encounters with God’s presence. They expose us to the brilliance of His glory, and that glory has the power to transform us. The more time you spend with Him in prayer and worship, the more His light reshapes you into Christ’s image.

When you sit under the sun, at first, you don’t notice the change, but over time your skin begins to glow or darken depending on the level of exposure. Similarly, when you consistently stay in God’s presence through prayer and worship, His glory leaves a visible mark on your life, transforming your character, attitudes, and actions.

Worship lifts your eyes from problems to the greatness of God. Prayer opens your heart to receive His wisdom and strength. Together, they create a spiritual atmosphere where His glory saturates you. This is why Moses’ face shone after spending time with God on the mountain Exodus 34:29.

When you neglect prayer and worship, it is like shutting the curtains against the sun. The light is still shining outside, but you cut yourself off from its warmth and brilliance. To walk in His glory, you must intentionally seek Him daily.

COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 16; SS & S 22; HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

  1. 1.     Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty!
    Early in the morning, our song shall rise to Thee;
    Holy, Holy, Holy, Merciful and Mighty!
    God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity!

    2.     Holy, Holy, Holy! all the saints adore Thee;
    Heaven’s elders cast their crowns down by the glassy sea;
    Cherubim and seraphim worship too before Thee,
    Who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

    3.     Holy, Holy, Holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
    Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see,
    Only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee
    Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

    4.     Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty
    All thy works shall praise Thy name In earth and sky and sea

    Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty
    God in three persons, Blessed Trinity
