Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 2:13–14

Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

A student cannot solve difficult problems without understanding the subject properly. A spiritually blind person struggles to understand divine truths because spiritual understanding comes through God’s light and revelation. Without spiritual discernment, godly wisdom appears confusing or meaningless. One major sign of spiritual blindness is inability to understand spiritual truths. A spiritually blind person struggles to recognize, receive, or apply the teachings of God correctly. Even when biblical truth is clearly explained, spiritual understanding remains limited because the heart lacks divine illumination.

The Bible explains that spiritual things are spiritually discerned. Human intelligence alone cannot fully understand God’s truth without the help of the Holy Spirit. You may possess knowledge, education, or experience, yet still fail to comprehend spiritual realities if the heart is disconnected from God. Spiritual blindness causes people to treat godly principles as foolishness or unnecessary. Many reject biblical instructions because their understanding is darkened by sin, unbelief, pride, or worldly thinking. Such people often rely entirely on human wisdom while ignoring spiritual guidance from God. You may also experience reduced spiritual understanding when you neglect prayer, Scripture study, and obedience. Sin clouds discernment and weakens sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. As spiritual focus decreases, confusion and misunderstanding increase. Without God’s light, spiritual truths become difficult to recognize clearly.

However, God desires His children to grow in wisdom and revelation. Through prayer, studying God’s Word, humility, and obedience, spiritual understanding becomes stronger. The Holy Spirit enlightens believers and helps them discern the truth accurately. As believers remain connected to God, spiritual insight increases. Jesus often explained spiritual truths to His disciples because they needed divine understanding. We must depend on God for wisdom and revelation daily. Spiritual growth becomes possible when hearts remain teachable and surrendered to God completely.

Today’s Prayer

• Father, open my understanding completely to receive and understand spiritual truths clearly and always.
• Lord, remove every blindness preventing spiritual discernment, wisdom, revelation, and godly understanding.
• Father, help my family understand, believe, and faithfully follow Your divine truth always.
