Text: 1 Corinthians 2:10-11
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Spiritual Communication Can Originate from the Human Spirit
Memory verse: Proverbs 20:27 “The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”
Spiritual messages can originate from the human spirit, which is the inner, God-given part of a man designed to receive, process, and transmit spiritual awareness. The human spirit serves as the bridge between the physical body and the spiritual realm. It is through the human spirit that a person senses inner conviction, peace, restraint, or direction beyond natural reasoning. When properly aligned with God, the human spirit becomes a reliable channel for spiritual perception and guidance.
The human spirit communicates through inner witness, intuition, conscience, and spiritual impressions. This communication often appears as a deep inner knowing rather than an audible voice. It may warn against danger, confirm a right decision, or create unrest when something is wrong. The Scripture refers to this as the inward witness, where a person’s spirit responds to truth or error. When the human spirit is healthy and sensitive, it helps guide decisions and keeps you aligned with divine purpose.
However, the human spirit must be trained and strengthened to communicate accurately. A neglected or corrupted spirit can become dull, making it difficult to discern truth clearly. Fear, sin, distractions, and emotional instability can distort spiritual perception. But through prayer, meditation on God’s Word, and obedience, the human spirit becomes more sensitive and reliable.
The human spirit works best when it is submitted to God and influenced by the Holy Spirit. As spiritual maturity grows, you learn to distinguish between emotions, thoughts, and true spiritual signals. This brings confidence, clarity, and stability in making decisions and responding to life’s situations.
Action Plans:
- Develop a consistent prayer and meditation lifestyle to strengthen your spirit and increase sensitivity.
- Study and apply God’s Word regularly to train your spirit to recognize truth and direction.
Maintain purity, emotional stability, and obedience to preserve the clarity and strength of your inner witness.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 29: SS&S 642: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
- When we walk with the Lord in the light of his Word
What a glory he sheds on our way
While we do his good will, he abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obeyTrust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
- Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies
But his smile quickly drives it away
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh nor a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey
- Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share
But our toil he doth richly repay
Not a grief nor a loss, not a frown or a cross
But is blest if we trust and obey
- But we never can prove the delights of his love
Until all on the altar we lay
For the favor he shows, and the joy he bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey
- Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet
Or we will walk by his side in the way
What he says we will do, where he sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obey
