Text: John 16:13
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Spiritual Communications Can Originate from the Holy Spirit
Memory Verse: Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
The Holy Spirit is the primary divine communicator who conveys God’s mind, will, and direction to you. He lives within the you and serves as the constant guide, teacher, and revealer of truth. Unlike external communication, the Holy Spirit communicates from within the human spirit, bringing clarity, conviction, instruction, and assurance. His role is to help believers understand God’s will and walk in alignment with divine purpose.
The Holy Spirit communicates in several ways, including inner conviction, spiritual impressions, peace, restraint, and revelation of the Scripture. He may prompt you to act, warn against danger, or confirm a decision. His communication always agrees with God’s Word and produces peace, clarity, and righteousness. The Holy Spirit also reveals hidden truths and provides wisdom beyond human understanding. He helps believers know what to do, when to act, and how to respond in every situation.
The communication of the Holy Spirit strengthens spiritual confidence and prevents error. He corrects when necessary, encourages during difficulty, and directs toward God’s perfect will. As you grow in spiritual maturity, you become more familiar with His voice and learn to respond quickly and accurately. Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit increases through prayer, obedience, and meditation on God’s Word.
However, the Holy Spirit does not force communication. He responds to willingness, faith, and obedience. Ignoring His promptings can weaken spiritual sensitivity, while obedience strengthens clarity and accuracy. A yielded and attentive heart becomes a reliable vessel for His guidance.
Action Plans:
- Develop daily fellowship through prayer, worship and devotion to strengthen your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
- Study and meditate on the Scripture to recognize His voice and confirm His guidance.
- Obey His promptings immediately to maintain clarity, accuracy, and spiritual confidence.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 29: SS&S 642: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
- When we walk with the Lord in the light of his Word
What a glory he sheds on our way
While we do his good will, he abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obeyTrust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey
- Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies
But his smile quickly drives it away
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh nor a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey
- Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share
But our toil he doth richly repay
Not a grief nor a loss, not a frown or a cross
But is blest if we trust and obey
- But we never can prove the delights of his love
Until all on the altar we lay
For the favor he shows, and the joy he bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey
- Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet
Or we will walk by his side in the way
What he says we will do, where he sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obey
