Text: Hebrews 13:13-16
13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
STRENGTHENING YOUR SPIRIT THROUGH Worship
Memory Verse: Psalm 100:2 “Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”
Your spirit is like a battery. Just as your phone needs to be charged regularly to work well, your spirit also needs to be recharged. One powerful way to do this is through worship.
Worship is not just singing songs in church, it is when you give your heart, love, and attention fully to God. You can worship by singing, praying, thanking God, or simply being quiet and thinking about who He is. Jesus said in John 4:24, “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” True worship comes from deep inside your heart (your spirit), and it must be honest. It is not about going through the motions or trying to impress people. It is about connecting with God in a real way. When you worship like this, something amazing happens, your spirit is filled with energy and strength.
Worship is like turning your heart toward the sun. Just like plants grow strong and healthy when they face the sunlight, your spirit grows strong when you face God in worship. It releases you from stress, fear, and distractions, and it reminds you of who God is; powerful, loving, and always with you. Sometimes, life makes you feel tired, confused, or even lost. Worship helps you refocus. It is like cleaning a dirty pair of glasses, you start to see clearly again. You remember that God is bigger than your problems, and that He is in control.
You do not have to wait for church to worship. You can worship anywhere, at home, while walking, or even during quiet moments of your day. You can say, “Thank You, God,” listen to worship music, or just tell God how much you love Him.
The more you worship, the more your spirit will grow. You will have more peace, joy, and strength to face life’s challenges. Worship connects you deeply to God, and in that connection, your spirit is refreshed and renewed. Just like you charge your phone each day, take time to charge your spirit through worship. Lift your heart to God, and let His presence give you life and power.
Covenant Gate Hymnals 117: “JOY UNSPEAKABLE” By Apostle James Abache
1. We confess with our lips, “Jesus is Lord,”
And believe in our hearts, His word is our sword.
By His grace, we are saved, in His name we stand,
Living for His glory, at His command.
Refrain:
True confession, more than words we say,
It’s a life that reflects His way.
Obedient hearts, by His Spirit we’re led,
Following Christ, with each step we tread.
2. No longer we live for the world’s fleeting gain,
But to honour the One who bore all our pain.
His lordship is shown in the life that we lead,
Obedience and love, in Christ we succeed.
3. By the Spirit’s power, we walk in His light,
Shining His love, through day and night.
We declare His lordship, not just in our speech,
But in every action, His glory we reach.
Bridge:
Faith without works is dead, we know,
True confession in actions will show.
Christ in us, our hope and our song,
In Him we live, to Him we belong.
