Text: Deuteronomy 18:10–12

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

¹¹ Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

¹² For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

• Memory Verse: Isaiah 8:19 “And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?”God strictly forbids certain channels of spiritual communication because they are unauthorized, deceptive, and spiritually dangerous. These sources do not originate from God and are designed to mislead, confuse, and draw people away from divine truth. Instead of providing guidance, they open access points to deception and spiritual bondage. God warns His people to reject these channels completely and seek Him only through His authorized means. The following channels must be rejected:
  1. Occult practices: These include divination, sorcery, and attempts to gain spiritual knowledge through forbidden means. They bypass God’s authority and expose individuals to deception.

   

  2. Mediums: Mediums claim to communicate with spirits, but such communication does not originate from God and leads to spiritual corruption.

   

  3. Spirit guides: These entities present themselves as helpers but are not sent by God. They introduce false guidance and deception.

   

  4. Familiar spirits: These spirits imitate voices, personalities, or patterns to deceive and mislead individuals away from truth.

   

  5. Any other voice contradicting the Scripture: God never contradicts His written Word. Any communication that opposes the Scripture cannot originate from Him.

  These channels lead to confusion, fear, spiritual instability, and separation from God’s truth. God’s instruction is clear: you must reject all unauthorized spiritual communication and remain aligned with His Word and the Holy Spirit.

  These forbidden channels are like counterfeit authority. They may appear real, but they operate illegally and cause harm. Only authorized channels provide truth and safety.

  Action Plans:

  • Reject all unauthorized spiritual practices completely.
  • Stay grounded in the Scripture daily.
  • Seek guidance only through God’s authorized channels.

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of his Word
   What a glory he sheds on our way
   While we do his good will, he abides with us still

Today’s Prayer:

1. Father, protect me from every deceptive and unauthorized spiritual influence.
2. Lord, help me remain firmly grounded in Your truth.
3. Holy Spirit, guide me always in safe and authorized spiritual communication.
