Text: 1 Peter 4:10–11
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
THE GOSPEL EMPOWERS YOU FOR SERVICE
Memory verse: Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Preservation in the gospel is not passive; it is preparation for divine purpose. God never preserves a life for idleness; He preserves for usefulness. The gospel does not merely keep believers safe from sin; it commissions them as agents of light in a dark world. Jesus said in Acts 1:8 “You shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto Me…” this empowerment is not given for comfort or status but for assignment. The Holy Spirit equips you to represent Christ with courage, compassion, and conviction.
Just as a seed preserved from decay is not meant to remain hidden in storage, you are not preserved to remain passive. A seed carries potential, it is preserved to produce fruit. In the same way, when the Holy Spirit preserves you, it is so that you might reproduce the life of Christ in others through witness, service, and love. Preservation without purpose is stagnation. The gospel that keeps you is the same gospel that sends us.
The transformation of Peter is a living proof. Once fearful and unstable, he became a fearless witness after being filled with the Spirit. The same Peter who denied Jesus Christ later declared Him boldly before thousands. That is what the gospel does, it turns weakness into witness, wavering into holy boldness. It is not human confidence but divine empowerment.
To be Spirit-filled is to be purpose-driven. The Holy Spirit strengthens you for daily living and energizes you for kingdom service. He refines character, sharpens discernment, and ignites passion for God’s work. Every believer, regardless of background or title, carries the call to reflect Christ and expand His kingdom. Service is not limited to preaching from pulpits; it includes every act of kindness, every prayer of faith, every step of obedience done for God’s glory.
When you understand this truth, preservation becomes participation. The Spirit that keeps you also calls you. You are preserved to proclaim, empowered to serve, and sustained to shine. The gospel did not save you to sit; it saved you to serve. Through the Spirit’s power, your life becomes a living testimony, a seed that bears fruit for eternity.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 97: “GUIDE US, LORD, IN SERVICE TRUE” By Apostle James Abache
- Guide us, Lord, in service true,
As we lead and follow You,
In Your wisdom, we shall grow,
And Your love, we’ll always show.
With our hands, we’ll serve Your grace,
And in our hearts, Your love embrace,
For the church, Your work we’ll do,
In the strength You give anew.
Refrain:
Guide us, Lord, in every plan,
As we seek to follow Your command,
In leadership, we humbly stand,
Empowered by Your holy hand.
With wisdom, love, and unity,
We’ll serve Your church in harmony,
Guide us, Lord, in service true,
And lead us ever close to You.
- In the tasks we’re called to bear,
Let us always seek Your care,
To shepherd hearts with gentle grace,
And lead with truth in every place.
May our words be filled with light,
Bringing hope and strength to fight,
For the kingdom’s work is near,
And in You, we have no fear.
- As stewards of the gifts You give,
In Your truth, we long to live,
With each decision, prayer, and deed,
Let us follow Your true lead.
For the church is not our own,
But a place where You are shown,
Through each leader, every heart,
In Your love, we take our part.
Today’s Prayer

- Lord, fill me with boldness through Your Spirit. Let Your power flow through me to touch lives and advance Your gospel.
- Father, release a new wave of Your Spirit upon the Church. Empower believers everywhere to serve faithfully and bear lasting fruit for Your glory.
