Text: Titus 2:11–12
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
THE GRACE THAT PRESERVES
Memory verse: Hebrews 13:9 “Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.”
Grace is more than divine pardon; it is divine power in motion. Many see grace as forgiveness for sin, but the gospel reveals a deeper dimension: grace sustains, strengthens, and stabilizes you in the journey of faith. Titus 2:11–12 declares, “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.” Grace does not just save; it trains. It is the active force that enables you to live out what salvation produced within you.
The taking off of an aircraft is a miracle of power, but that alone does not keep it flying. It must rely on continuous thrust to stay in the air. The moment the engines stop, the plane begins to descend not because gravity increased, but because the thrust ceased. In the same way, you cannot depend on yesterday’s grace to survive today’s storms. You need a fresh supply of grace daily. Grace is the thrust that keeps your spirit airborne above sin, discouragement, and defeat.
Apostle Paul understood this truth when the Lord told him, “My grace is sufficient for thee, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” 2 Corinthians 12:9. Grace does not always remove the thorn; sometimes it empowers you to bear it without breaking. When the weight of life threatens to pull you down, grace provides a lift.
Hebrews 13:9 warns us not to be “carried about with strange doctrines,” but to have our hearts “established with grace.” This means grace is not just an emotional feeling but a stabilizing force that anchors our faith in turbulent seasons. Without grace, your Christian life suffocates; with it, you soar.
Grace is like oxygen, invisible but essential. You may not see it, but without it, spiritual suffocation begins. It is the breath of God that revives prayer, fuels worship and renews inner strength. The gospel continually releases this grace, keeping you alive in the Spirit and victorious in life.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 34: SS & S 894: AMAZING GRACE! HOW SWEET THE SOUND
- Amazing grace ! how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me ;
I once was lost, but now am found ;
Was blind, but now I see.
- ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved ;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed !
- Through many dangers, toils, and
I have already come : [snares,
‘Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home,
- Yes, when this heart and flesh shall
And mortal life shall cease, [fail,
I shall possess within the vail
A life of joy and peace.
Today’s Prayer
- Lord, let Your grace keep me standing strong. I refuse to live on yesterday’s strength release fresh grace into my life today.
- Father, teach me to rely on grace daily, not on my ability. Let Your strength perfect my weaknesses and lift me above every limitation.
- Lord, establish every believer by Your grace. Preserve those growing weary, and breathe fresh spiritual oxygen into Your Church again.
