THE POWER OF GOD’S LIGHT gives direction

Text: 2 Corinthians 4:1-7

1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

THE POWER OF GOD’S LIGHT gives direction

Memory Verse: Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Life is a journey, and without guidance, it is easy to wander into confusion and destruction. Darkness represents ignorance, uncertainty, and lack of direction. Many people today stumble because they cannot see the way forward. But God’s light shines as our compass, showing us not only where to step today but also the path ahead.

The Word of God is the greatest source of direction. It shines like a lamp, giving clarity to immediate decisions, and like a light, revealing the long-term journey of destiny. When we are confused, His Word illuminates the path, making crooked path straight and exposing hidden dangers.

God’s light is not only for general direction but also for personal leading. Through prayer, the Scripture, and the Holy Spirit, God provides divine instructions, whether in business, family, ministry, or relationships. Without this light, human reasoning becomes unreliable, leading to costly mistakes. But with His light, we can move with confidence, knowing we walk in alignment with His will.

Following the light requires humility and obedience. Just as travelers in ancient times depended on lamps to guide their steps in the dark, you must depend on God’s Word daily. Ignoring the light is dangerous, but staying in it guarantees safety, progress, and fulfillment of destiny.

When you face crossroads, uncertainties, or hidden traps, look to the Light of God’s Word. He will not only shows the way but walks with you until your journey is completed.

COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 27: SS&S 173 THERE’S A LIGHT THAT IS SHINING IN DARKNESS

  1. There’s a light that is shining in darkness,

While we wait for the dawning of day;

And it cheers us along on our journey,

Till the shadows shall vanish away !

  1. So we’ll wait and watch for the dawning,

The day of eternity blest;

Then take the wings of the morning,

And fly away to our rest.

  1. From the sure word the prophets

have spoken, [the gloom;

There is light flashing forth through

For the Scripture can never be broken,

And the King in His glory will come.

  1. Now we sing ‘mid the darkness and shadows, ;

And we pray and we watch for the dawn

Till the Day-star, in glory arising,

Shall betoken the coming of morn.

His Second Coming

  1. We are not of the night nor of darkness,

Let us walk, then, as children of day;

Our weeping shall be for a moment,

And our joy shall ne’er vanish away !
