Text: 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
THE POWER OF GOD’S LIGHT Transforms
Memory verse: Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”
God’s light does not merely illuminate, it transforms. Before salvation, humanity lives in darkness, enslaved to sin, ignorance, and under the control of Satan. But when Christ’s light shines into your life, a complete transformation begins. Identity shifts from being “darkness” to becoming “light in the Lord.” This is not just a change of behavior but a radical change of nature.
Transformation by God’s light means becoming a new creation with a new mind, new desires, and new purpose. The light breaks old habits, destroys chains of sin, and releases grace for righteous living. What was once hidden in shame becomes exposed and healed; what was once broken becomes restored.
Living as “children of light” is the evidence of this transformation. It means reflecting the character of Christ in truth, purity, compassion, and holiness in your daily life. Just as light cannot be hidden, a transformed you becomes a visible testimony to the world.
The process of transformation continues daily as you grow deeper in fellowship with Christ. His light shapes decisions, renews the mind, and aligns the heart with God’s will. Transformation is both instantaneous, when we are saved and progressive, as His light keeps molding us into His image.
Ultimately, God’s light transforms not only individuals but also communities and nations, as His children carry that light into families, workplaces, and societies bound by darkness.
