Text: Galatians 2:20
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
THE POWER OF RESURRECTION LIFE: Personal Renewal and Victory Over Sin
Memory verse: Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not only a historical event, but also a living power that brings continual renewal to believers. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now works in us to conquer sin, weakness, and spiritual death Romans 8:11.
This resurrection is God’s declaration that sin has lost its dominion. Before the cross, humanity was chained under sin’s power, unable to resist its pull. But when Christ rose, He broke the grip of sin forever. Through faith, believers share in that victory, we die to the old life and rise into newness of life Romans 6:4.
A seed that is buried in the soil: seems dead, forgotten, and covered by dirt. Yet, hidden within is the power of life. When it breaks forth, what was buried becomes fruitful. That is how resurrection life works, it transforms what was once broken, buried, and bound into something fruitful and free.
Apostle Paul explains that this power is not abstract; it is practical. The resurrection life empowers believers to say “no” to sin, “yes” to righteousness, and to walk in the Spirit daily. It renews the mind, cleanses the heart, and restores joy. Sin no longer reigns; grace does Romans 6:14.
This power is not self-improvement or positive thinking. It is the supernatural energy of the risen Christ operating in human weakness. When we yield to Him, His resurrection life flows through us, producing holiness, strength, and victory over the desires that once enslaved us.
Resurrection life turns guilt into grace, fear into faith, and defeat into dominion. You no longer struggle for victory you live from victory. Every morning becomes a resurrection morning, a new chance to rise above sin and walk in divine purpose.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 111: VICTORY IN JESUS By Apostle James Abache
- In Christ, our Savior, we stand tall and free
His victory over sin, a gift to you and me
Through His death and resurrection, we’re made new each day
With hearts full of joy, we’ll praise His holy way
Refrain:
Victory in Jesus, our hearts sing and soar
With every step, we’ll follow Him, forevermore
In His love and power, we’ll stand, unshaken and strong
Victory in Jesus, our anthem, all day long
- The cross, a symbol of love, that sets us free
From the chains of darkness, to a life of liberty
Jesus, our Redeemer, paid the price for our sin
Now we can live, forgiven, with hearts that grin
Bridge:
We’ll celebrate, His goodness and might
With every breath, we’ll sing, His praise, day and night
Our hearts, overflowing, with joy and love
For the victory, we have, sent from above
Today’s Prayer

- Lord Jesus, I receive the strength of resurrection to live above sin, temptation, and weakness. Let Your Spirit quicken my body and mind daily.
- Father, let Your resurrection power reach all believers struggling with sin and defeat. Revive them, renew them, and cause them to walk in newness of life.
