Text: 1 Corinthians 1:16-19
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL
Memory verse: Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
The gospel of Jesus Christ is not a human invention; it is God’s power in motion. It carries divine energy that transforms lives, renews minds, and restores broken destinies. The message of the cross is not mere philosophy or motivational speech, it is a spiritual dynamite that destroys sin, heals the soul, and delivers from the grip of darkness.
When the gospel is preached and believed, it activates God’s saving power. Every word carries the breath of the Spirit and penetrates the hardest heart. Through the gospel, sinners are reconciled, captives are set free, and hopeless lives find purpose again. It is not limited by background, status, or past mistakes. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the power that saves today.
The gospel reaches where human effort fails. It changes what psychology cannot heal and what medicine cannot cure. It delivers peace where there was torment and brings order where there was chaos. Paul declared boldly, “I am not ashamed,” because he knew that the gospel is God’s ultimate answer to man’s greatest problem, sin.
Every believer is a carrier of this divine power. When you speak the gospel, you are releasing heaven’s force into human situations. The gospel is the heartbeat of God, it reveals His love, mercy, and righteousness to all creation. To be silent about it is to withhold the very power that gives life.
Let the gospel shape your thinking, speech, and conduct. Preach it with conviction, live it with passion, and demonstrate it with power. The world does not need another argument; it needs a living witness. Be that vessel through which the gospel flows unhindered, and you will see its transforming power at work, saving souls, healing hearts, and restoring destinies.

Who from His alter call;
Extol the stem of Jesse’s rod,
And crown Him Lord of all.
- Ye seed of Israel’s chosen race,
A remnant weak and small,
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all.
- Ye Gentile sinners, ne’er forget
The wormwood and the gall;
Go, spread your trophies at His feet,
And crown Him Lord of all.
- Let every kindred, every tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,

- Oh, that with yonder sacred throng

Join in the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all.
