THE POWER TO PRESERVE AND EMPOWER BELIEVERS

THE POWER TO PRESERVE AND EMPOWER BELIEVERS

Text: 2 Corinthians 12:9-11

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

11 I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.

THE POWER TO PRESERVE AND EMPOWER BELIEVERS

Memory verse:1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

The gospel is not just the doorway to salvation; it is the engine that keeps us moving forward in faith. It does not only rescue; it sustains. Many begin the Christian race with zeal, but it is the power of the gospel that enables us to finish well. The same cross that saved you is the same cross that strengthens you daily.

An electric train moves only while connected to its power line above. The moment the connection breaks, motion ceases. Your strength, endurance, and consistency come from continuous connection to the life-giving power of the gospel. It is not your willpower that keeps you holy, but God’s transforming grace continuously supplied through the Word.

The gospel preserves in seasons of trial. When life’s storms rage, it speaks peace. When temptation presses hard, it empowers to say no. When faith feels weak, it reminds us that Christ’s strength is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. Every day we draw from the same power that raised Jesus from the dead Romans 8:11, enabling us to overcome sin, fear, and discouragement.

The gospel empowers us for purpose. It fuels spiritual gifts, renews passion for service, and gives courage to witness in a world that resists truth. Grace does not just forgive, it fortifies.
Apostle Paul said in Philippians 2:13 that “..it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” as long as you remain rooted in the gospel, you will not just survive; you will thrive, fruitful, faithful, and be full of divine strength.

COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 120 “BEYOND THE DARKENED DAY” By Apostle James Abache

  1. When shadows fall and hope seems dim,
And storms of life are loud and grim,
I lift my eyes, my heart to Thee,
For in Your hands, my soul is free.

Refrain:
Beyond the darkened day, You reign,
In every trial, in every pain,
My faith in You will never cease,
For You alone bring perfect peace.

  1. When voices rise to cloud my mind,
And all I see is death behind,
I trust Your Word, You hold the key,
To life, to joy, and victory.

  1. Through every storm, You’re by my side,
I walk by faith, not by my sight,
No hopeless end, no closing door,
For You, my Savior, rise once more.

  1. In Your hands, the dead shall rise,
In Your grace, my soul shall fly,
You conquer death, You conquer fear,
And in Your love, I draw so near.
