Text: Galatians 5:15–17
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
THE SPIRIT THAT EMPOWERS
Memory verse: Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.”
The gospel is not just a message to be understood; it is a power to be experienced. That power operates through the Holy Spirit. Apostle Paul said in Romans 8:11, “If the Spirit of Him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies.” The same divine energy that rolled away the stone and revived the body of Jesus now dwells inside every believer. The gospel is not about trying harder; it is about drawing from the Spirit’s life within.
Without the Spirit, Christianity becomes mere moral effort; with the Spirit, it becomes supernatural transformation. Philippians 2:13 reminds us that “it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” When temptation rises, when trials presses, when weakness whispers, the Spirit supplies the strength to stand, speak, and overcome. You are not alone. The gospel placed in you the same power that sustained Jesus through the cross and raised Him in victory.
The owner of a rechargeable battery does not panic when its energy runs low, He simply returns to the source for power. In the same way, when you feel weary, drained, or spiritually dry, the gospel invites you to recharge in Christ through prayer, the Word, and fellowship. Our strength fails when we disconnect from the Source. But when we stay plugged into God through the Spirit, we continually receive divine energy for living, serving, and enduring.
The Spirit that empowers does not only quicken our bodies but also energizes our purpose. In Acts 1:8 “You shall receive power when the Holy Ghost has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses unto Me.” The power is not for prestige; it is for a purpose. The Spirit turns ordinary people into bold witnesses and weary hearts into burning flames.
To live a victorious Christian life, you must depend on this indwelling power. The Spirit does not make you immune to trials; He makes you unbreakable in them. He empowers you to rise when others fall, to speak when fear says be silent, and to shine even in darkness.
COVENANT GATE HYMNALS 97: “GUIDE US, LORD, IN SERVICE TRUE” By Apostle James Abache
- Guide us, Lord, in service true,
As we lead and follow You,
In Your wisdom, we shall grow,
And Your love, we’ll always show.
With our hands, we’ll serve Your grace,
And in our hearts, Your love embrace,
For the church, Your work we’ll do,
In the strength You give anew.
Refrain:
Guide us, Lord, in every plan,
As we seek to follow Your command,
In leadership, we humbly stand,
Empowered by Your holy hand.
With wisdom, love, and unity,
We’ll serve Your church in harmony,
Guide us, Lord, in service true,
And lead us ever close to You.
- In the tasks we’re called to bear,
Let us always seek Your care,
To shepherd hearts with gentle grace,
And lead with truth in every place.
May our words be filled with light,
Bringing hope and strength to fight,
For the kingdom’s work is near,
And in You, we have no fear.
- As stewards of the gifts You give,
In Your truth, we long to live,
With each decision, prayer, and deed,
Let us follow Your true lead.
For the church is not our own,
But a place where You are shown,
Through each leader, every heart,
In Your love, we take our part.
Today’s Prayer

- Lord, help me to stay connected to You, my true Source. Let Your Spirit energize my will and strengthen me to fulfil Your purpose.
- Father, let Your Spirit revive every weary believer. Ignite new fire in Your Church and empower us to live boldly for Your glory.
